Save Austin Now is a nonpartisan organization that was founded in August 2019 by Austin native Matt Mackowiak. Our mission is to educate and mobilize Austin residents about critical quality of life issues.
Mackowiak moved to Austin in 1984 at the age of four years old. He is a graduate of Westwood High School in northwest Travis County and the University of Texas at Austin. He is a communications consultant that works with clients in the health care, tech, telecommunications and energy industries.
He serves on the boards of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Austin Community College's Center for Public Policy and Political Studies, Balcones County Club and the Texas Cowboys.
He is married to Suzanne (Tomlin) and they live in Northwest Hills with three dogs.
